This is another marimba solo, a little bit shorter than our last one, but definitely still a goodie. the term “Halcyon,” is quite uncommon, with the word meaning “...happy and peaceful.” I feel like this piece definitely gives off that kind of vibe. This is a more intermediate level four-mallet solo.

The intent of this solo is to allow the performer to take liberties with the suggested tempo and dynamic markings to give the solo shape throughout. This solo is most definitely ​not ​meant to be played at a metronome-perfect tempo, and variations in the tempo are entirely at the discretion of the performer.
