This piece takes a simple repeated idea/arpeggio and is then mirrored by all of the other mallet parts in their own way. In the first variation, there’s constantly differing patterns occurring at a given time. In the second section, we slow down, and go into a little bit more of a developed mallet section while we still preserve the main theme/melody. The section kinda goes into this kind‘ effect middle eastern/egyptian-style progression. The flute, and metallics are present to serve the melody that really tie this edition together.

Lastly we are brought to a much-repeated piano part, with the marimbas also repeating their parts with some variation here and there. And the flute and metallics again supply the melody to end this whole piece with a great big sustained resolve. With the many-changing time signature and the many out of me arpeggios, this piece is perfect for ensembles wanting to strengthen their ability in odd meter, and other contemporary pieces of music.
